Government College University (GCU) Lahore, one of Pakistan's oldest and most prestigious public universities, has announced 33 vacant positions for teaching and non-teaching staff through advertisement No. ADV-21/2026/GCUL. Applications are invited from suitable candidates for professorships, lectureships and a contract-based computer programmer role. The last date to apply is 15 August 2026.

Professor (BPS-21) — 5 posts · Age 40–50

English, History, International Relations, Law, and Electrical Engineering (one post each).

Associate Professor (BPS-20) — 13 posts · Age 35–50

Commerce & Finance, International Relations, English, Media & Communication, Physics, Psychology, Punjabi, Political Science, History, Philosophy, Education, Medical Lab Technology, and Law (one post each).

Assistant Professor (BPS-19) — 1 post · Age 30–45

Fine Arts.

Lecturer (BPS-18) — 12 posts · Age 21–35

Commerce & Finance (2), International Relations (2), Law (2), Computer Science (2), Electrical Engineering (2), Medical Lab Technology (1), Economics (1), Political Science (1), Public Policy (1).

Computer Programmer (Contract / Fixed Package) — 2 posts · Age 21–35

Master's degree (2nd Division) in Computer Science from a recognized university. Preference for candidates with programming experience.

2. Deposit the non-refundable processing fee — Rs. 5,000 for Professor and Associate Professor, Rs. 3,000 for Assistant Professor, Lecturer and Computer Programmer — at the HBL GCU branch (challan), by online deposit, or via bank draft in favour of the "Vice Chancellor GCU Lahore". Exact account details are printed on the official form and advertisement.
3. Attach attested copies of testimonials, experience certificates, CNIC and CV. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit separate applications.
4. Submit the completed application to the Office of the Registrar, GC University Lahore, Katchery Road, Lahore, by 15 August 2026.

Important notes

• 5% quota for minorities and 3% for persons with disabilities.
• Age relaxation up to 5 years (men) and 8 years (women) as per Government of the Punjab rules.
• Government employees must apply through proper channel. Only shortlisted candidates will be called; no TA/DA.
• Foreign degrees require HEC/IBCC equivalence.

Professor: PhD from an HEC-recognized institution in the relevant field, 15 years teaching/research experience (or 10 years post-PhD), and 15 research publications including at least 5 in the last 5 years in HEC-recognized journals. Electrical Engineering applicants need valid PEC registration.

Associate Professor: PhD in the relevant field, 10 years experience (or 5 years post-PhD), and 10 publications including at least 4 in the last 5 years.

Assistant Professor (Fine Arts): PhD (no experience required), or an 18-year Master's/MPhil with 4 years experience, or a 4-year first professional degree (First Division) with 6 years experience.

Lecturer: First Class MS/MPhil or equivalent (18 years of education) with no 3rd division in the academic career. Law: First Class LLB. Computer Science / Electrical Engineering: First Class Master's degree (PEC registration required for EE). No experience required.
